The short version: our desktop apps run on your computer and your files stay on your computer. MirrorEdge AI: Waves has no account, no ads and no telemetry, and it never uploads your audio or video. It does send two things, both only when you ask it to: your email address when you activate a licence, and a web address when you use Open from link.
Waves is an audio repair and editing application. All audio and video processing happens locally on your machine. Waves never uploads your recordings, your edits, or anything you produce with it.
Waves does not:
~/.waves).There are exactly two places where Waves contacts the network. Both are started by you, and neither carries your audio.
1. Licence activation. When you activate a licence, Waves
sends your email address and your computer's name (the name
your operating system reports for the machine, e.g. WILLS-PC)
to mirroredgeai.com. We use them to check that a licence exists for
that email and to count how many machines a licence is used on, which is how the
device limit works. That is the whole of it — the request contains nothing
else, and no audio.
Near the end of a subscription period, Waves may repeat that same request in the background so a renewed subscription keeps working without you doing anything. It sends the same two values and nothing more. If you are offline, or if it fails for any reason, nothing happens and no error is reported anywhere. Once activated, a lifetime licence needs no further contact at all.
2. Open from link. If you use File ▸ Open from link, Waves fetches the web address you gave it, exactly as a browser would. It sends nothing about you and nothing about your other files.
Optional assistant features. Waves can be connected to an AI assistant, which is off unless you set it up with your own API key. If you do, the requests you type there go to that provider under your own account and their privacy policy applies to them. Waves does not add a key of its own, and with no key configured nothing leaves your machine.
mirroredgeai.com is a static website. Our web server keeps standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security and capacity purposes only. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share visitor data.
If you buy a MirrorEdge AI product, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe, or the Microsoft Store if you bought it there). We receive your order details — name, email, product purchased — to deliver the product and provide support, and we keep them only as long as needed for those purposes. We never see or store your full card number.
The only personal data we hold from the application itself is the email address you activated with and the computer name that came with it. Write to us and we will tell you what is held against your address, or delete it. Deleting it deactivates the licences tied to it, so we will say so before we do it.
This page states what the shipping version of Waves does today. When a version changes what it sends, this page is updated to match it.
