These terms cover Waves, the desktop audio editor. They are written to be read. If something here is unclear, write to support@mirroredgeai.com and we will explain it in plain words.

The short version. Waves is free to use for as long as you like — open, edit, listen, undo. A subscription is what lets you keep what you make: exporting audio and video, lifting a selection out as its own file, and saving a Music Studio mix. Your recordings are yours and they stay on your computer. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time.

1. What you may do with Waves

You may install and use Waves on the computers you personally use, for your own work — personal or commercial. Anything you make with it is yours. We claim no rights over your recordings, your edits or your exports.

Every editing feature is free with no trial clock, no watermark and no reduced quality. The following actions require an active subscription:

You can always save a session and come back to it without paying, so declining to subscribe never loses your work.

3. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

Both plans renew automatically until you cancel. Payment is taken for the next period within 24 hours of the current one ending. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you live.

If you bought from the Mac App Store

Apple takes the payment, sets the price in your local currency, and manages the subscription. Prices there differ from the prices above. Cancel any time in System Settings ▸ Apple Account ▸ Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.

If you bought directly from us

Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. To cancel, change or pause, write to support@mirroredgeai.com from the address you paid with, and we will action it. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.

Founding Lifetime

Founding Lifetime licences are no longer sold. Every one already bought is honoured permanently and does not expire.

4. Refunds

Mac App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Direct purchases: if Waves is not what you expected, write to us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it. You do not need a reason. After 14 days we will still look at anything that went wrong; we would rather sort it out than keep money from somebody unhappy.

5. Your recordings and your privacy

Waves works on your computer. Your audio and video are never uploaded to us and never used to train anything. The program makes exactly two kinds of network call: activating your licence, and fetching a file you asked it to open from a link. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

6. How your licence is stored

A direct purchase is registered to the email address you paid with. Activating in the app saves a signed licence file on that computer; after that Waves does not need the internet. You may activate on the computers you personally use. The licence is paperwork, not a lock — we would rather trust you than inconvenience you.

7. Third-party software

Waves ships FFmpeg, used as a separate program to read and write the audio inside video files, under the GNU Lesser General Public License. Waves itself is proprietary. Full notices, the exact build we ship and its digest are on the legal page. If you want the source for any LGPL component, ask us and we will provide it.

8. What we promise, and what we do not

We work hard to make Waves correct, and it is tested heavily. But it is software that changes audio, and no software is perfect. Keep your originals. Waves never overwrites a source file unless you tell it to, and every edit can be undone — but a backup is still the right habit.

To the extent the law allows, Waves is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and MirrorEdge LLC's total liability for any claim relating to Waves is limited to what you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Ending things

You can stop using Waves at any time. We may end your licence if you break section 1 — but we will tell you what happened and why first, unless the law prevents it.

10. Law, and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, U.S.A. If we change them, the effective date at the top changes, and a material change that affects existing subscribers will be sent to the email address on the subscription before it takes effect.
